IMMIGRATION REDUCTION PROGRESS via CCN! – HELP CCN Magnify It!

CCN’s NET Cost of Legal Immigration Study has facilitated Progress toward achieving reductions in Legal Immigration. This positive trend follows CCN's widely distributed “NET Costs of Legal Immigration” Study, which reached the White House, Members of Congress, and the Media.

The Key Point of the Study is that the large Numbers of LEGAL Immigrants entering the USA annually — about 1.5 to 1.6 Million — generate Huge NET (i.e., after subtracting Taxes Immigrants Pay) Costs to U.S. Taxpayers, i.e., $330 Billion per Year. Importantly, that “over $300 BILLION” Number was noted by Administration sources soon after they received CCN’s Study.

Remarkably, The Administration’s Team on immigration, has now focused on the costs of LEGAL Immigrant Numbers/Costs linkage, as explicitly made by CCN.  The White House has made the very sensible proposal to deny Green Cards (i.e., permanent resident status) to any immigrant who used taxpayer funded programs, e.g., Health care, Welfare, etc. or is likely to use them in the future! This brilliantly highlights a Key Question: Why should the American Taxpayer fund Legal Immigrants if the cost amounts to about $1000 per year for every existing US Citizen?

Indeed, about two thirds of all legal immigrants have used or prospectively will use federally (taxpayer)-funded Programs, many in violation of the conditions they swore to follow on their applications for visas.

So Carrying Capacity urges you to join us to continue to intensify our pressure by pushing your Representatives for BOTH

1) an all-categories-included Zero-Net Moratorium (which would reduce the USA’s Budget Deficit by over a Half Trillion Dollars in the next decade, if enacted now) AND for

2) Denial of Green Cards to any Immigrant who has or is likely to receive taxpayer funded benefits ...Also push for building The Wall and enacting e-Verify, etc. to keep up the pressure against illegal aliens entry.

Consider The Open Borders lobbies Interpretation as reflected in the Mainstream (i.e., Open Borders) Media:

“… Politico reported yesterday that one policy proposal aimed at both groups—making it more difficult for immigrants to get green cards by penalizing those who have previously used any form of public benefits, including insurance subsidies and tax credits—is already discouraging immigrants from applying for programs they need before it’s even on the books….” [Emphasis added, Ed.]

The Administration’s response to critics:

“‘There is no constitutional right for a citizen in a foreign country who has no status in America to demand entry into our country. Such a right cannot exist. Such a right will never exist…. This is an ideological disagreement between those who believe we should have borders and should have controls and those who believe there should be no borders and no controls.’ [Stephen Miller, in an interview with ABC News].”

Thus, CCN's NET Costs of Legal Immigration Study, via the Trump Administration, is beginning to have considerable impact as the following sympathetic reviews indicate:

“There's been a spate of articles in recent days complaining that the Trump Administration is moving to prevent welfare recipients from obtaining green cards. We are in one of those Narrative Shift moments.

“It seems just yesterday that the Left was arguing that immigrants don't use welfare [Immigrants Don't Drain Welfare. They Fund It. by Laura Reston, The New Republic, September 3, 2015]

“Now, we are being told they do use welfare. In fact, they desperately need it, and you are a monster if you think there's a problem with this. [Emphasis added, Ed.]

“A typical passage from Slate:

‘Immigrant advocates immediately raised concern that even mentioning the proposed new rule could push low-income immigrants to avoid requesting public benefits out of fear that it could jeopardize their chances of receiving a green card in the future. Although the move shouldn’t affect those who already have green cards, advocates are also concerned they will stop using public benefits to be on the safe side. And those who would most likely be affected would be children of immigrants who are in the United States legally….’

[White House Wants to Deny Green Cards to Immigrants Who Receive Public Benefits, by Daniel Politi, September 23, 2018]

“And from the National Review:

‘…Special cases such as refugees aside, there is no reason whatsoever for the U.S. to welcome immigrants who cannot support themselves without taxpayer subsidies. Current policy does a horrible job of implementing this principle, and therefore we endorse the Trump administration’s new effort to tighten the policy up...

‘Our laws say that immigrants are ineligible for visas and green cards if they are likely to become dependent on the safety net funded by U.S. taxpayers. It’s time to start enforcing that policy.’

[Immigrants should support themselves, by The Editors, National Review, September 24 2018]’

“… Daniel Horowitz at Conservative Review forcefully argued last month that even the idea of immigrants receiving welfare would have been horrifying to the Founding Fathers.

‘Immigration is an elective policy of a sovereign nation. It should benefit America and never create a public charge. That notion is one of the most foundational principles of our country. It dates back to colonial times and has been enforced by the states since the founding and then by the federal government when it fully reclaimed immigration in the 1880s. That immigrants shouldn’t be a public charge is still the law on the books, yet it’s rarely enforced. Now that the Trump administration is seeking to enforce the law, suddenly the Left is screaming about denying immigrants their rightful citizenship...

‘It’s quite entertaining to watch the open-borders crowd go from explaining how these are the most prosperous immigrants of all time to telling us that the proposal would dramatically cut immigration. Obviously, this is an admission that for decades they have been lying to us about the nature of many of the immigrants coming to the country and just how many of them receive welfare….’

In sum, focusing on the NET Costs of LEGAL Immigration creates Considerable Additional Leverage to get lower LEGAL Immigration Numbers.

Immigration and especially The NET Costs of Legal Immigration has thus rocketed up to the top issue on the minds of many voters this cycle. So, publicizing the Study is a Key winning message Immigration Reductionists can disseminate for the next few weeks to aid in stopping the fleecing of America. SO CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES NOW!

And if you can, please help us, (Carrying Capacity Network) intensify our Activist Mobilization, Media, lobbying and public education efforts by helping to mobilize our many thousands of volunteer activists with a one-time tax-deductible donation.
